About the Conference

The 49th annual BYU Conference on Family History and Genealogy will offer more than 100 classes, allowing participants to gain new skills and helpful information. Class topics include:

Construction Update

You will need to enter the BYU Conference Center using the south doors on either level due to the expansion of the Harman Continuing Education Building (HCEB) on the north end. The entrance on the lower level does not meet ADA requirements. Please use the handicap parking outlined below if needed.

Monday Check-in Option

You can check-in on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Conference Center from 3:00–5:00 p.m., this is especially helpful for those using campus housing. There will be shuttles available to get you to and from the Conference Center.


All handicap parking is now located at 1550 North 900 East in Lot 23A, southeast of the BYU Conference Center. The rest of Lot 23A is reserved for those with an "A" permit. In the event that all handicap stalls are occupied, a handicap permit allows you to still park in this lot.

Free visitor parking is available in Lot 20Y located at 730 E. University Parkway, west of the BYU Conference Center. Parking is also available in the Marriott Center's Lot 19Y. Please do not park in stalls or areas identified with "Service Vehicles" or requiring an "A" permit.

ICAPGen Luncheon

The International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists (ICAPGen) is pleased to host its second annual networking luncheon. This event provides an opportunity for those interested in becoming an Accredited Genealogist to talk and eat with AG® professionals and get more insight as to the application and testing process, as well as learn more of the practical benefits of achieving the AG® credential.

We will have many Accredited Genealogists in attendance to help interested candidates learn more about becoming part of our group. This was a popular event last year, and we encourage early registration to ensure your seat at our table.To register, please click the “Registration” tab at the top of this page and add the ICAPGen Luncheon option to your cart.

Lunch will be held on Friday, July 28, the concluding day of the BYU Conference on Family History & Genealogy, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in room 2260A.  Cost for the event is $20.
